FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A Few Things You Might Be Wondering
Frequently Asked Questions
Is laser hair removal safe?
When it’s performed by a trained, certified practitioner on properly assessed skin – yes. Safety in laser work comes from knowing which settings suit which skin type and hair colour, which is why every new client starts with a skin assessment and a patch test, never a full session on day one. Confirm patch-test protocol.
Does it hurt?
Most clients describe each pulse as a quick warm snap – noticeable, but over in a fraction of a second. Sensitivity varies by area and by person, and we adjust as we go. If you’ve handled waxing, you’ll handle this.
How many sessions will I need?
Hair grows in cycles, and the laser only affects follicles in their active growth phase – so a series of sessions spaced weeks apart is how lasting reduction actually works. Most areas need X-X sessions. At your consultation you’ll get a realistic number for your hair and skin, not a one-size answer.
Can I get laser treatments in summer, or with a tan?
Sun exposure matters, because the laser targets pigment. Recent tanning (sun or spray) changes how your skin responds, so we’ll ask about it honestly and may adjust timing or settings. The straight answer: tell us, and we’ll plan around it safely. Confirm sun-exposure policy.
How do I know which facial or skin treatment is right for me?
You don’t have to know – that’s our job. Book a consultation and we’ll assess your skin type and concerns, then recommend the treatment that fits. Sometimes the right recommendation is a simpler routine than you expected; we’d rather earn your trust than sell you a series.
Do I need to do anything before my appointment?
Yes, and it genuinely affects your results. You’ll get specific prep instructions when you book – for laser, that typically covers shaving the area and avoiding sun exposure beforehand. Confirm exact prep instructions per treatment.
Is there downtime?
For most of our treatments, little to none – some temporary redness or sensitivity is normal and settles quickly. Where a treatment does involve recovery time, we’ll tell you exactly what to expect before you book it, not after.
What happened to Aesthetics by Chloe Pidsadny?
We’re the same practice – Aurora Rejuve + Laser is the new name Aesthetics by Chloe grew into. Same practitioner, same location at 9 Main Street West, same standard of care.
Do you sell the products you use?
Yes – we carry Skin Essence Organics, and we stock it because we use it, not the other way around. If a product isn’t right for your skin, we’ll say so.
How do I book?
Online, any time – the booking page shows live availability. Prefer to talk it through first? Phone / contact method. A consultation is the right starting point if you’re new or unsure.
